The TRAIN DRIVER

Natalie is a trained singer and musician and has recently stepped back from teaching in schools after 22 years, to develop Tiny Train Tunes. Through first-hand experience Natalie knows that children love music and movement and that music is a powerful tool to aid child development.

The workshops have been designed around her teaching and music experience; the EYFS; and also of being a parent!  She really valued the early years and time she spent at pre-school sessions, having attended lots of clubs herself, along with her daughter.

In her career Natalie has had vast experiences, some highlights are:  being the youngest appointed PA at Director level at British Rail Research, working at the Arts Council, teaching a varied curriculum and leading a successful music department.

She studied music in Nottingham and London College of Music obtaining her BMus Music (Performance) degree in vocal studies.  She also has ABRSM grades in singing, theory and piano.

During her music teaching highlights have been many, a few are:  seeing musical progression through teaching years 5-A level pupils; private vocal teaching (children and adults); recording studio work; creating her own EP and arranging music for orchestra and smaller instrument settings/choirs; experience of performance recitals.  She has also been a leader of: bands, music workshops, performances and shows; a community choir.

Natalie is a local girl, who loves bringing people together.  She is never happier than when creating something.

She is a born traveller and has experienced lots of different cultures around the world for which she is very grateful.  The journey to Tiny Train Tunes has perhaps been inevitable with her history of trains and music.  Her favourite memory is of singing on the Orient Express!
